Aimless Advent Concept Demo
A downloadable game for Windows
This is a small look into an RPG concept based around exploring to find the story, rather than it coming to you. You play as the Soul of Hero, created to use a vessel to save the world from the mysterious and powerful Dark Knight, Oleander. Simple, right? Not quite. As you traverse the lands, more and more will become known about them, the worlds secrets slowly unfolding the narrative around you. Stay sharp, and explore!
Included in this package is a demo version of an unfinished project of mine, with some dev tools to show some of my intentions with the exploration, design, and narrative. Any reviews or comments would be greatly helpful for future projects. Just be aware that as a concept demo, there is the chance that it is never completed.
Disclaimer: This is a product of Meta Fiction based around the process of game design and the suffering that comes from the inability to reach goals. Depictions of frustration, depression, and such sufferings are a product of this Meta Fiction and should be treated as such. Take care and proceed with caution.

ok, I think I explored everything that's possible to explore. it seemed like in the mines I just hit a dead end though
good job, only complaints were that it was a little annoying that only some enemies (the ones that made sense I guess, so like humanoid enemies) would drop gold. Also the ship theme sounds awfully reminiscent of the Dragon Quest IV ship theme at one point. I think I'm nearing where the game 'ends' now, I got to Pyramidia but it didn't let me enter. Was Kyle supposed to be able to read the inscription in the Hidden Temple?
Other thing is I think when you are able to get the stat-increasing items at the bazaar town (can't remember what it was called) it may become a game balance issue later on when gold is easier to come by
oh, is the music just default rpg maker music? I don't know what the RTP sounds like for the newer games. The Monk Temple theme also sounds sort of like Corridors of Time
Yeah, it’s default rpg maker music. Also, you can enter Pyramydia once you talk to a specific character towards the bottom of the dessert near the town. Thank you for the feedback and hope this helps!
As for Kyle, yes, he should be able to read it once you return.
