What Sonic Emerald X is:

The narrative and idea of Sonic Emerald X stayed in my head for a fairly long time, but it was always a concept I was playing with, and eventually materialized as concept art first. A general backbone was realized in my head before I started writing though, and that can be seen especially in Shadow, who's narrative throughline goes through the whole span of the series.

As for what Sonic Emerald X has become, well, not only is it a Sonic and DBZ merged narrative, but it's also a crystalization and love letter to childhood, and as the themes grow, the story becomes about growth in itself.
